Mediation Services

Beaver County encourages good neighbour relationships. While community standards can be regulated through the County’s bylaws, there may be issues that cannot be resolved through bylaws alone. To assist in such cases, the County has partnered with the Strathcona County Community Mediation Society (SCCMS), a non-profit organization specializing in dispute resolution.

What Can Mediation Help With?

SCCMS provides support for resolving issues such as:

  • Fencing
  • Noise
  • Parking
  • Pets
  • Trees

Please Note: Family disputes, complaints against businesses, and conflicts involving community organizations are not covered by this service.

How It Works

This service is available free of charge to Beaver County residents. You can:

  • Contact SCCMS directly, or
  • Authorize the County to make a confidential referral on your behalf.

A representative from SCCMS will:

  • Offer practical tips for addressing the conflict, or
  • With your consent, reach out to the other party and mediate a resolution.
