Community Support Requests

Community Support Program

Beaver County recognizes the vital role that community organizations play in enhancing the quality of life in our region. Through the Community Support Program, we provide financial and in-kind support to help organizations achieve their goals and create positive impacts in our communities.

Who Can Apply?

The program is open to not-for-profit organizations and volunteer groups or clubs operating within the Beaver County Region. Eligible groups should focus on areas such as:

  • Education and training,
  • Arts, culture, and heritage,
  • Sports and recreation,
  • Environmental improvements.

Types of Support

  • Capital Grant Requests
    • For projects that improve infrastructure or facilities.
    • Maximum funding: $2,500 per year (higher amounts may be considered based on budget availability).
  • Operating Grant Requests
    • For operational needs or programs that enhance the organization’s sustainability and community impact.
    • Maximum funding: $2,500 per year (higher amounts may be considered based on budget availability).
  • Event Sponsorship Requests
    • Support for events through promotional items or financial contributions:
    • Promotional items: Up to $250 per year.
    • Cash sponsorships: Up to $750 per year (requests exceeding this amount require Council approval).
  • School Requests
    • Schools in the Beaver County Region, including Hutterite Colony schools, can request promotional items valued at up to $250 per year.

Applications are accepted twice a year, with deadlines on:

  • February 28
  • September 30

 

All applications must include:

  • A completed application form,
  • A detailed project budget,
  • The organization’s most recent financial statements,
  • Evidence of financial need or quotes for the project.

 

Applications can be submitted:

  • Through our contact form, by selecting "Communications"
  • By mail to: Community Support Program, Beaver County, Box 140 ,Ryley, AB, T0B 4A0
  • In person, at the Beaver County Service Centre in Ryley

Organizations that receive funding must submit a grant report within three months of completing the project. The report should include:

  • A summary of expenditures,
  • A brief description of project activities,
  • Signatures from two executive members of the organization.

Failure to submit a report may impact future funding eligibility.

Beaver County also provides pre-approved annual funding to several key organizations and events, including:

  • Family Community Support Services
  • STARS
  • Snow Goose Festival
  • Tofield Western Days
  • Holden Farmers Day
  • Bruce Stampede
  • Cloverlodge Stampede
  • Kinsella Bullarama
