Fire Restriction in Effect

Posted on
The Beaver County Region, including all towns, villages and hamlets therein, are now under a Fire Restriction as there is an increased risk of wildfire due to dry conditions and prolonged high temperatures.

All existing fire permits are cancelled and open burns must be extinguished. Fire permits will not be issued during the restriction.

All open-air burning, including large and small brush piles consisting of leaves and/or tree pruning’s used for yard cleanup, are prohibited.

Fireworks and exploding targets are also prohibited during the restriction.

Construction guidelines for an approved fire pit. An application is not required to have an approved pit. Property owners are responsible to ensure the fire pit meets the guidelines.

Residents should also exercise caution when engaging in activities that could provide an unintended ignition source (welding, grinding, ATV use, etc.).

Fire officials will continue to monitor conditions. A fire ban may be issued without further notice. BESC will update the public of any change at www.besc.ca and www.albertafirebans.ca.
