Ryley, Alberta – Beaver County is pleased to announce that it will receive a $1,547,816.81 dividend from Claystone Waste Ltd. in 2025, representing an increase of $70,355.31 over 2024.

“We are grateful for this substantial financial contribution from Claystone Waste,” said Kevin Smook, Reeve of Beaver County. “The increased dividend and Good Neighbour Grant for 2025 allow us to continue reinvesting directly into our community—supporting essential services, infrastructure, and long-term sustainability for our residents.”

“Claystone Waste was created by our five shareholder municipalities, not only to provide waste management services, but to be an investment that contributes to the success of the community,” said Meryl Whittaker, Chair of the Board of Directors. “Thanks to Claystone’s continued growth, including the success of our composting program and our transfer station network, 2024 was our most profitable year yet and the Board wanted to celebrate through an increase in each shareholder’s dividend payment.”

In addition to the dividend, Beaver County will also receive a Good Neighbour Grant in the sum of $89,980.51.

“Claystone is an invaluable asset and investment for our shareholder communities,” said Corey Popick, Chief Executive Officer. “As part of the limited partnership agreement between the municipalities, the Village of Ryley and Beaver County receive additional funding to help fund quality of life initiatives to residents directly impacted by our operations.”

The Good Neighbour Grant is allocated according to the limited partnership agreement, with 66.67 per cent to the Village of Ryley and 33.33 per cent to Beaver County. The total 2025 Good Neighbour Grant is $269,941.53 compared to $257,571.20 in 2024.

Claystone Waste Ltd. is a municipally controlled corporation owned by the towns of Tofield and Viking, the villages of Ryley and Holden, and Beaver County.  The organization provides waste management services across Alberta, operating a state-of-the-art landfill and advancing sustainable waste solutions through diversion programs.

The annual dividend demonstrates Claystone’s commitment to reinvesting in the communities it serves and helps ensure long-term sustainability and prosperity across the region.
